Struggling to Edit

I have to admit, I’m having a hard time editing my novel, but we’ve had a lot going on – selling our house and renting a townhouse while our new house is being built, post-operative care for my wife as she recovers from surgery following a car wreck, and next week starting back to work.

My novel’s prologue is final, until it hits the editor’s desk, that is, but chapter 1 has been a struggle. I’m not overly pleased with it but my editing seems to go in circles, that is, the changes I make are no better than what I changed. Not to worry though, eventually something will click with me and I’ll move forward, it always happens. I just keep my eyes and ears open and something perhaps totally innocuous will be what I need get over the hump.

But to satisfy my creative side, I’m drafting the first two chapters of a new, paranormal novel. I believe in never putting off inspiration when it hits.
